Servicio Andaluz de Salud is one of themost energy consumers organizations in the region because the huge number of buildings they manage. Focusing on the primary care network, they manage more than 300 health centers located throughout the region: the buildings are characterized by highly heterogeneous characteristics, age, type of construction, facilities, surfaces, etc.. The Andalusian Energy Agency ,in coordination with the Servicio Andaluz de Salud held a public competition for the achievement of a sector research in health centers of the Andalusian Health Service in order to know the reality of the energy consumption of these buildings. INGHO was the winner of this tender where an energy audit was performed for each of the 327 buildings that were assessed in the study, distributed all over Andalusia.
Results
As a result of this study we developed a guide for energy efficiency in the sector of health centers. This guide has been the reference to evaluate the average energy consumption, compare the performance among centers (benchmarking), and assess the potential energy savings in Andalusia.
