The project starts as a result of the decision taken by the University of Córdoba to assess the centralization of the thermal energy production of a group of buildings located at Rabanales campus, it aims at improving energy efficiency and reducing the costs of generation of thermal energy for air conditioning of the buildings located in the University campus. The following building form the Rabanales Campus: Darwin, Einstein, Marie Curie, Celestino Mutis, Mendel, Severo Ochoa, Government Building, Library-Newspaper archive, Aulario Averroes, Ramón y Cajal and, additionally, an indoor swimming pool located in the urbanization of the own Campus. A “District Heating and Cooling” network is used to distribute the thermal energy produced in the power plant. INGHO worked with the technicians of the University so that the facilities could be integrated perfectly and guarantee the best conditions of energy efficiency and operation and maintenance costs. INGHO developed the engineering project of all District Heating Cooling facilities.
Technical and economic evaluation of the centralized production of thermal energy and distribution through a district network to service the energy demand of air conditioning for buildings
