Engineering project and equipment plan for Oriente en Zacapa Oriente Regional Hospital in Zacapa

Project description

Regional hospital that service the population located at eastern Guatemala. The total surface of the building is 21.738 m2, and it is equipped with 200 beds. Building layout is formed by linear blocks cross distributed as a comb. There are three floors, the first one is the access floor where the most of the activity takes place. Facilities are fully integrated in the building architecture, large open spaces and natural lighting and ventilation strategies are included in the project design. INGHO delivered the detailed engineering project for all the building facilities: HVAC, electricity, plumbing/ drainage, control, communications, gases and fire protection.

INGHO also worked in the elaboration of the equipment plan, including furniture, specific equipment in the industrial area, such as laundry or kitchen, electromedical and high-tech equipment. The equipment plan includes the technical specification for the equipment and specifications for the required facilities, this deliverable was used to start the purchasing procedure.

Results

Building design focus on functionality to improve the usability. The integration of natural lighting has got a reduction in energy consumption by 20% in comparison with an equivalent building.
